Welcome to Changing Times Diaper Company
February 8, 2015
To say that I have been extremely busy these past two months would be an understatement. The dry weather conditions here in Northern California have allowed construction projects to proceed ahead of schedule. Our customers are using the weather to their advantage which results in some very long workdays. This along with a one hour drive time often has me arriving home late in the afternoon. Many times dinner is eaten on the way home. There are a few downsides to all these hours.
One is a lack of sleep as I have found myself dozing off on the way to work the following day. A strong cup of coffee normally cures this and a little caffeine throughout the day keeps me going. The other downside is not being able to devote enough time to our small home based business.
Business continues to increase an individual’s learn of our quality products and affordable prices. A new ecommerce templates program makes it easier to track sales. Our dashboard reflects the top 10 products and customers for the past thirty days. Our top selling products at this time are the diaper twill pre-folds, contour diapers and inserts. Not far behind are the various InControl vinyl pants from Gary Mfg and Babykins. To say that I am pleased with business since January 1, 2015 would be another understatement.
A new order of vinyl pants from Gary Mfg. and PUL pants from Babykins arrived this past week. The pants are now available through of secure online shopping cart.
Returning to our line of InControl pants is the 7mm high waist snap-on style. It is the original style with the 1” rolled elastic at the waist and legs. The amount of snaps on each size varies based upon the size. Small has seven snaps on each side whereas the 3XL has eight.
The large order from Gary Mfg. will allow me to dry various styles in our popular neon and pastel colors. Just need a little time to determine the amountand size per each color. Hopefully I will be able to get to this product in the next week or two.
From Babykins come our popular PUL pants in solid white along with cowboy, dinosaur and sassy dots prints. Sad to say this will be the last order of cowboy pants and bibs as it appears Dritz Babyville has discontinued this print. Don’t know why but they have recently released several new prints. Please do not wait too long to order as they may not last long.
We have also discontinued the snap-on PUL pants as the pull-on style is more popular. Whatever snap-on pants that are in stock will not be replaced. A quick check of our on-hand quantities will reflect which snap-on PUL pants are in stock.
Along with the new PUL pants came adult bibs. The standard size with overall measurements of 28” long by 17” wide and Velcro at the neck arrived. There are now available in solid white along with the dinosaur and sassy dots prints. New to CTDC are smaller bibs with overall measurements of 24” long by 14” wide. The smaller bib ties at the neck and great for teenagers and small adults. I will list the smaller bibs to our site soon. Both bibs feature crumb pockets.
I still patiently await the arrival of the Lang vinyl pants. I have been in contact with Peggy Lu recently and she is making strides in completing my order for sizes medium to xx-large in both matte and shiny styles. No problem with small and xxx-large as she had these in stock during my last visit. I am hopeful to have the new pants in the near future.
I could not be more pleased with the popularity of our line of cloth diapers. The pre-folds are very popular. Not far behind are the contour style and separate diaper twill inserts. Many find the inserts can easily be used with the pre-folds when extra protection is needed. Our contour style comes with its own insert but can easily accommodate an extra insert as needed by the wearer.
Our new flat Birdseye seems to be a welcomed addition to our line of cloth diapers. Two sizes are available: 36” x 36” and 44” x 44”. Both sizes are available in either 2 or 4 ply. At this time the four ply is more popular so these will be the only thickness ordered in the future. The two ply does not sell as well so will be discontinued when the current stock is depleted.
A quick inventory shows we are in need of ordering more Snappi diaper fasteners. These are a great alternative to regular diaper pins. They can easily be used with our diaper twill pre-folds at the small teeth easily grip the loose material. I would not recommend their use with the Birdseye material as the threads are much tighter. There are few size 1 Snappi remaining but will not be reordered as the size 2 toddler Snappi is more popular.
I am always on the lookout for new products for CTDC. I have a lead on adult training pants which I will follow-up on this week. The pants features Bamboo cloth material on the inside which is very comfortable even when set. The outer waterproof layer is made with PUL and available in several solid pastel colors and cute nursery prints. More to come as I investigate and test this possible addition to our store.
Please feel free to contact me with your input about new products. Please use our “Contact Us’ link as it is now working. It’s been down since updating our ecommerce templates program. A couple of emails to my web designer finally fixed the linked. Sorry to all of you who used this link and never received a response. Unfortunately I did not know the link was broken and it took longer than expected to get fixed.
Our sole source for shipping products within the US and to our many customers around the world is the United States Postal Service (USPS). One thing I can say after being in business for over seven years along with about three selling on eBay is that I have never had a package not delivered. Some have been delayed in the system a few days while others based upon the destination have taken longer than expected. A tracking or package number is generated for all shipments however on many occasions these numbers do not result in any useful information when tracked through the USPS website. Those this happens the major majority of packages are delivered on the expected arrival date.
The one downside to shipping overseas with the USPS is not being able to track the package once it leaves the US. This is possible with services such as UPS and FedEx but the cost can be two or three times the cost as USPS. I do everything possible to make sure delivery addresses are correct based upon the information received. What I found over the years is the package normally arrives a few days after an email is received asking the status of an individual’s order. I cannot recall one instant where a package was lost in the mail and never received. I did have one package which took forever (two months) but it went to the Congo in Africa.
Several individuals have noted shipping charges with USPS are questionable. Many individuals request parcel post but receive their products via priority mail. The USPS offers several priority mail options. The best is regional rate as the cost is based upon weight and where in the US the package is being shipped. This method is often cheaper than regular priority mail and priority mail flat rate. I use my best judgment with every order to get the products to you via the fastest and cost efficient manner.
As always, please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns about our products or service.
